Our design predictions for 2024
Our in house creatives have cast their minds forward and considered what the industry should be readying itself for in 2024. We’re already flowing with these styles but you’ll be seeing a lot more of these for our clients next year.
Illustration
Our illustrators are a little giddy when we see a resurgence of hand-drawn illustrations coming over the hill. There's something charming about their imperfect finish that adds playfulness and warmth without going overboard. Bespoke illustrations are perfect for adding authenticity to a brand, steering clear of generic corporate vibes and stock photos.
3D Type
Sorry to break it to you, but plain old type is so 2023. Thanks to the accessibility of Adobe Firefly and the Blender craze, we're turning ordinary text into something extraordinary. 3D text lets designers play with texture, lighting, and depth, injecting life and interactivity into what used to be basic type. It’s fun, playful and it’s going to be everywhere!
Retro-Futurism
Sounds confusing but retro-futurism is going to be all the rage in 2024. It's all about mixing vibes from the past with today's tech. We’re talking pixels, glitches, and grungy textures. Add some moving parts and 3D elements with slick typefaces, and you've got a modern twist on nostalgia.
Maximalism
Guess what? We're waving goodbye to the era of ultra-minimalistic designs that ruled the graphic design world for ages. Maximalism is here to let designers go wild with layered, composition-heavy designs, rich colour palettes, and minimal white space. Complex compositions encourage people to linger longer, uncovering subtle stories woven into the visuals.
The use of AI
AI has been the biggest buzzword of 2023, and despite fierce opposition, it's here to stay. AI is a trusty sidekick for composition, ideation, and experimentation. It's the designer’s best friend who offers to do all their mundane and repetitive tasks, letting them focus on what they do best – getting creative! It is for this reason that we’re all for AI becoming a part of our working day. Replacing us? Not likely...
