Lauren Mitcham
Senior Editor
As Senior Editor here at Bottle, Lauren leads a comms team working across B2B and consumer sectors. Her team are involved in both Digital PR and social media channel management, and also work with our in-house Creative and Planning teams to help shape the overarching strategy.
Lauren loves the variety of the work we do at Bottle, both from a client perspective and from a mixed-channel point of view. One day she could be working up a LinkedIn strategy to reach financial managers - the next she could be at the Chelsea Flower Show with popular influencers, celebrating conservation efforts that benefit bees and beekeepers around the world.
Lauren graduated with a BA hons degree in Film and Literature from the University of Warwick, and after a brief stint in TV production went on to work in London-based agencies across a wide range of clients and sectors. Her extensive experience prior to Bottle included working with the British Olympic Association for London 2012, Stella Artois, The Vodafone Foundation, The Florence Nightingale Museum, Halfords, Fred Perry, Rugby World Cup 2015, and the World Series of Poker with Betfair.
She then went client-side, working in-house at Merlin Entertainments for over five years as the Senior PR Manager for the London Eye as well as managing the PR for SEA LIFE London Aquarium and The London Dungeon. In addition to all proactive PR, she also led the crisis communications strategy for all the Merlin London sites, managed photography, filming and press events and acted as a spokesperson for international print and broadcast media.
Lauren loves reading crime fiction (when she gets the chance) but most of her spare time now is spent hanging out with her daughter and running around outside trying to keep up with her.
Lauren’s claim to fame is that a picture of her staring lovingly at Ryan Gosling’s Madame Tussaud’s wax figure once appeared on the big screen on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, whilst he was a guest on the sofa. The image was later used in an online article about one of his stalkers. The moral of the story is to say no when a colleague asks you to ‘help out’ on a press shoot!
A bonus fun fact about Lauren is that she can blink her eyes independently - like a lizard, or a haunted Victorian doll. It’s very creepy.
